Apparel exporters

KARACHI, April 22: Leaders of four major value-added apparel exporters associations have taken strong exception to the decision of not inviting them to a crucial meeting related to export of textile being held on Wednesday at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.

In a communication to Federal Minister for Textile Industry Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, the chairmen of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association, Pakistan Knitwear and Sweater Exporters Association, Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel Exporters Association and Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association sought his intervention in the matter.

They condemned the move to ignore country’s most vital sector which earns around $3.5 billion or 20 per cent of total exports, and also asked the minister to use his good offices and ensure their participation in the meeting.
