LAHORE, April 21: The LPG Distributors Association has urged the government to take budgetary steps for reducing and stabilising the liquefied petroleum gas retail price to Rs30-32 per kilo.

In the proposals forwarded to the government for the budget, association chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said the government should take steps to reduce the producer prices of LPG to Rs30,000 to Rs32,000 per ton so that it remained within the reach of the common run of people.

He said sales tax on LPG should be reduced by 50 per cent and import should be allowed to eliminate the chances of shortage during annual shutdown of plants in summer when demand fell to 1,700/1,800 ton. —Reporter
