VEHARI, April 21: Traders held a demonstration in front of the press club here on Monday to protest 18-hour power outages hampering business activities.

Protesters led by Anjuman-i-Tajran president Irshad Bhatti marched on various city roads and reached the press club.

Carrying banners and placards, they shouted slogans against Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) Vehari Circle officials and condemned the prolonged loadshedding.

Later, they dispersed peacefully.

Mepco executive engineer Muhammad Ishfaq said that they were just obeying the directives of their high-ups.
