LARKANA, April 21: Pakistan People’s Party-SB chairperson Ms Ghinwa Bhutto has urged the Larkana DPO to order an inquiry into the incident that took place on April 17 and 18 when the DSP and the SHO of Naudero, along with armed civilians, forcibly entered into the rice mill and thrashed, humiliated and threatened the staff.

In a letter to the DPO office on Monday, Ms Ghinwa Bhutto said it had come to her knowledge that on April 17 some heavily armed civilians, accompanied by a team of policemen, forcibly entered our rice mill in Naudero. Our staff in the mill was beaten, threatened, humiliated and assaulted by them along with the police, she said.

She said on April 18, again heavily armed civilians, this time accompanied by the DSP Naudero and SHO Naudero, trespassed on our lands and harassed their peasants. She said the above action of the police was not only deplorable but illegal and malicious and it appears to be a prelude to a conspiracy being hatched with the intent of further harassing and threatening their people.
