BADIN, April 17: A tension gripped Kario Ghanwar town of Shaheed Fazil Rahu taluka after a man tore up a poster of the late revolutionary leader Fazil Rahu and restored to aerial firing on Thursday.

The man was identified as Karim Bux Chandio.

The business centres and shops were closed down immediately when the news of the incident spread in the area.

About 300 activists and followers of Hari leader Fazil Rahu took to the streets and observed a sit-in at Fazil Rahu chowk for over two hours.

They marched on the city roads in protest and raised slogans against the mischievous act.

They were demanding immediate arrest of the man.

The Fazil Rahu Yadgar Committee incharge, Mohammad Saleh Rahu, condemned the incident and said that there were many hoardings at Shaheed Fazil Rahu chowk where portraits of PPP and other party leaders were displayed but the accused did not touch any other and destroyed the one of late Rahu’s.

When contacted, SHO Qamar Zaman Khoso at Kario Ghanwar police station said that the accused had been arrested and an FIR had been registered.

Some people said that the accused was mentally sick.

RESIGNATION: The Badin taluka council unanimously approved the resignation of Taluka Nazim Mohammad Hashim Jamali and authorised the convener Abdul Karim Nohrio for appointing an acting nazim at the next session of the council to be held on Thursday.
