SWAT, April 17: Two police officials and two others were critically injured here on Thursday when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at their vehicle near Kanju Township.

The injured included sub-inspector Bakht Baider, constable Akhtar Hussain and two brothers, Hussain and Bilal sons of Sher Malook.

The assailants ambushed the car minutes after the policemen left home for duty. The injured have been shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital for treatment.

In the FIR, the injured sub inspector has nominated four accused Ali Rehman alias Fouji, Mohammad Naseem, Rehman Ali and Ali Haider residents of Koza Bhandi.

The Kabal police have registered a case against them. Later, the injured were shifted to Peshawar for treatment. —APP
