KARACHI, April 13: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Sunday laid the foundation stone of nine mega projects costing Rs680 million in Orangi and Site towns.

The projects, to be completed by June 2008, are construction of a stadium in UC-8, Site Town, Qalandar Hotel- Major Anwar Shamim road, SITE Town, sport complex, Sector 11-1/2 Orangi Town, new block for postgraduate classes at the Government Degree Girls College Orangi, construction of Maulana Shaukat Ali road, upgrading of secondary school in Sector 10, Orangi Town, Mominabad road, Orangi Town, upgrading of a high school in Frontier Colony and construction of Government Degree Girls College, Sector 11, Orangi.

Talking to journalist, the city nazim said that Orangi and Site were among the backward towns of the city and the city government launched many projects to develop them.—APP
