LARKANA, April 23: The daily wage employees of the public health engineering department, division-I, Larkana, staged a demonstration on Tuesday outside the office of the engineer of the department to press for the early payment of their 24 months salaries.

They accused the engineer, sub-divisional officers and the clerks concerned for siphoning off the money, allocated by the director general of the public health, and pointed that even those who were living in Saudi Arabia were shown paid the salaries.

The Zila Nazim, Khursheed Junejo, has already ordered an inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of funds for which the EDO (finance), Noor Ali Khan, had been entrusted to conduct the inquiry.

Meanwhile, fire broke out in the record of room of the main collectorate building on Tuesday and damaged the old record.
