Ramiz steers MHCC to semi-finals

KARACHI, April 12: Ramiz Raja’s superb batting guided Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club to the Wallis Mathias Memorial Trophy semi-finals, as they overwhelmed Baqai Dolphins by 56 runs at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground on Friday.

Ramiz banged 11 boundaries in his 98 as the MHCC, batting first, posted 221 for 9 in the allotted 35 overs. Sajid Ali (32) supported Ramiz well.

The MHCC, at one stage, were 174 for two but could only manage 221-9 thanks to fine spin bowling by Zeeshan Anwar, who captured five wickets for 28.

In reply, Baqai Dolphins could make 165 for 8 in 35 overs. Umar Salim top-scored with 54. Sajid Ali, Mohammad Ali and Agha Sabir grabbed two wickets each.
