HYDERABAD, April 22: A widow, Ms Rasheeda, has appealed to the authorities to protect her, her son and her peasants against the excesses of a police sub-inspector, Pir Manzoor.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Monday, Ms Rasheeda, widow of Hafiz Ghulam Mohiuddin Pirzada, resident of Dadu town, said that for the last ten years, sub-inspector Pir Manzoor had been harassing her and her husband, when he was alive, with a view to taking over the possession of their properties.
She said that Pir Manzoor had registered a false heroin case against here husband and had sent him to jail. Her husband died on May 12, 2001.
She said that her husband was a retired sub-registrar and when he was lying in the Liaquat National Hospital Karachi, sub-inspector Pir Manzoor, along with his companions, had entered her house and taken away all the articles.
She said thereafter Pir Manzoor, by preparing fake documents, took over her plot and also filed a false case in the court which was still pending.
Ms Rasheeda alleged that another false case was also registered against her haris with the police, which was disposed of as false.
She said that now Pir Manzoor had taken away her 63 bags of wheat and was threatening her with dire consequences through police.
She alleged that Pir Manzoor was also being supported by a journalist.
