TIMERGARA, April 7: At least 29 people, including three of a family, were injured when a passenger coach rammed into a standing vehicle at Shago Kas, some 10 kilometres east off here on Monday, police and eye-witnesses told Dawn.

The injured were rushed to Timergara District Headquarters Hospital where seven of them were discharged after first aid treatment while the remaining 22 were admitted. The hospital administration declared emergency.

Hospital sources said that two of the four critical injured persons were shifted to Peshawar.

Both the vehicles were partially destroyed, eye witnesses said. They said that a Bjaur-bound passenger coach bearing registration number K 6887 Peshawar was coming from Mardan and rammed into a van standing at the roadside near a sharp turn at Shago Kas.

The injured were identified as Ghulam Sarwar of Bajaur, his wife and mother, Shah Muhammad of Talash, Saeed Jan of Talash, Adnan of Talash, Israr Khan of Charsada, Muambar of Talash, Ghulam Sardar of Katlung, Gul Said of Islam Dherai, Anwar Khan of Pashat Bajaur, Hussain of Pashat Bajaur, Taj Bibi of Gusam Dir Lower, Zaman of Inayatkalay Bajaur, Zir Ali of Arang Bajaur, Rahim Khan of Katlung, Ubaid of Katlung, Haji Muhammad of Bajaur, Hidayatullah of Talash, Gul Bachai of Talash and Ali Bahadar of Mardan.

Drivers of both the vehicles identified as Ismail and Shah Mohammad were stated to be critical.
