KARACHI: Housewife commits suicide

KARACHI, April 21: A young housewife committed suicide in her home in Preedy area on Sunday.

The police said that Raheela Butt, aged 32, hanged herself in a room of her apartment in Gulshan Building at Gowalia Gali, Preedy.

Her husband, Asif Jameel Butt, informed the police on phone No 15.

The police sent the body to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Quoting the woman’s husband, the police said that the couple had a quarrel over breakfast. Later, she locked herself up in a room where she hanged herself from the ceiling fan. The couple had four children, three daughters and two sons.

The police said that the woman’s husband was under interrogation, but he had not been arrested.

ACCIDENTS: A 10-year-old boy died in a road accident in Manzoor Colony on Sunday.

The police said that Nasir Masih was run over by an unidentified vehicle on Bismillah bridge in Manzoor Colony. He was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where he died.

After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.

Two unidentified persons were crushed to death beneath the wheels of a railway engine near Baloch Colony on Sunday, while walking across the railway tracks, the police said.

The bodies were sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

BODY RECOVERED: The body of a young unidentified man was found floating on the sea on Sunday. It was fished out and sent to the mortuary of Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

The police said that body of an unidentified man, who appeared to be in his mid-30s, was fished out from the sea near KPT berth No 18.

After post-mortem, the body had been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.
