Overpowered by power outages

Published March 27, 2008

BAHAWALPUR, March 26: Eight to 10 hours intermittent and unscheduled power load shedding has paralysed routine life and business activity in the city and suburbs here. People are suffering power breakdowns for the last several days.

Traders condemned Multan Electric Power Company officials for continuous power disruption and demanded that its senior officials take measures to reduce load shedding hours so that their business could be continued.

Consumers also complained that lengthy hours of load shedding had crated problems, including shortage of water.

Government servants and schoolchildren face problems in the morning due to power breakdown while students cannot complete their homework at night.
