Judges’ Release celebrated

Published March 26, 2008

LAHORE, March 25: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) celebrated the release of deposed judges by holding a peaceful demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday.

Led by Shabbir Sial, PTI activists chanted slogans against Gen Pervez Musharraf (retired) while distributing sweets among the passersby.

Pledging to continue their struggle for the independence of the judiciary and reinstatement of the deposed judges, they said the release of the detained judges was the first step in this regard.

They lauded Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s first order and assured him that the party would support all positive decisions of the new government in the larger national interest.
