MANSEHRA, March 25: Four members of a family were killed and two others injured seriously when a pickup plunged into a ravine in the Chanchal area of Battagram on Tuesday.

Battagram District Police Officer Malik Mohammad Hafiz told Dawn by telephone that the vehicle fell into the ravine at a sharp turn.

Bibi Zareen, her son, Mohammad Amin, Bibi Anwar Ziaba and her son, Zakarullah, died on the spot. Bibi Ruqia and her four-year-old son, Ismail, were injured. They were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Battagram.

The DPO said the driver who had sustained minor injuries escaped after the accident.
