Mustafa in last eight

KARACHI, March 16: Top seed Mustafa Zaidi demolished Arsalan Allahwala straight to reach the quarter-finals of the boys’ under-15 singles of the third Sindh ranking tennis tournament at the Beach View Club on Sunday.

Mustafa, winner of last competition in the same category, conceded just one point in a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. He got a bye in the first round.

Joining him in the last-eight round was fourth seed Adil Kohari who defeated Daniyal Allahwala 6-1, 6-0.

Juniors’ under-17 singles first round: Muhibullah bt Hamza Saeed 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2.

Pre quarter-finals: Omer Shahid bt Ali Muzaffar Khan 6-1, 6-1.

Boys’ under-15 singles first round: Yayha Essa bt Jahangir Khan 6-1, 6-1; Daniyal Jaferey bt Haseeb Shafqat – walkover; Shahzaib Nasir bt Asfand Yar 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 7-5; Naveed Abbas bt Shahmir Mirza 6-0, 6-3; Shaharyar Ahmed bt Zain Saeed – walkover; Murtazain Shoaib bt Uzair Abdul Qadir 6-4, 2-6, 6-4; Ali Muzaffer bt Hassan – walkover.

Pre quarter-finals: Mustafa Zaidi bt Arsalan Allahwala 6-1, 6-0; Adil Kohari bt Daniyal Jaferey 6-1, 6-0.

Boys’ under-13 singles first round: Talha Zubair bt Arsalan Allahwala 6-1, 6-4; Jahangir Khan bt Roman Zaidi 6-0, 6-0; Ahsan Jamil bt Shahzaib Nasir – walkover; Fraz Ahmed bt Babar Muzaffar 6-2, 6-2.
