LAHORE, March 16: Pakistan defeated China 2-0 on Saturday to restore the parity to 1-1 in the five-match hockey Test series being played in the Chinese city of Ghangzhou.

Pakistan who opened the series on a dismal note, losing their first game 4-2, made a comeback in the second with Waqas Sharif and Mohammad Atiq scoring one goal each.

According to information received here, Pakistan had to make a number of player as well as position changes during the match to put up a better performance in this encounter compared to their first one.

Pakistan shot into the lead in the seventh minute when forward Waqas sounded the board.

Pakistan led 1-0 at halftime.

The lead was doubled in the 60th minute when deep defender Muhammad Atiq substituting for Muhammad Imran converted a penalty-corner.

Pakistan play their remaining Tests on March 18, 19 and 21.
