KARACHI, March 8: Four ships carrying containers and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where half a dozen vessels including Calvin P. Tutus, Y. M. Inauguration, Hansa Liberty to unload and load containers, Furtrans Bulk to offload coal, Bulk Arrow to load cement and Stolt Heron to unload chemicals were berthed after the departure of five.

The departing ships were led by Hyundai Advance, Calvin P. Titus, Scalo-1, Pos Knight and Creek, while Rubia, Bengal Orchid, Montana, Hansa Liberty, Bunga Kenari, Y.M. Inauguration, Oba Swathy, Fortune Bulk, Orient Stride, Hope Princess and Bulk Arrow are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed an improvement as the total tonnage handled rose to 0.112 million tons owing to higher exports comprising 55,445 tons of export tonnage including 3,617 tons of rice, 4,365 tons of cement and 26,334 tons of clinkers and 56,476 tons of imported cargo.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Itha Bhum and Harmony with containers, Lucky Arrow to load cement and Lous Tang with project cargo.The following vessels are due on Monday: Johar with crude oil and Happy Venture with DAP fertiliser.
