KHANEWAL, March 7: Four assailants shot nine buffaloes dead and injured another 15 at a cattle farm in Chak 3/9-R, some 25 kilometres away from here, over a ‘love-cum-honour feud’ on Friday.

According to complainant, Faisal Hameed, Muhammad Tariq, Ghulam Abbas and an unidentified man came on a car and stormed the Khurshid cattle farm in Katch Khu police precincts.

They first inquired from workers the whereabouts of farm owner Rashid Tareen on which they were told that he was away.

Later, the assailants opened fire on animals in the cattle yard, killing nine buffaloes on the spot while injuring another 15 critically.

Rashid complained that prime suspect, Faisal Hameed, had a dispute with him after parting with his fiancé, who later got engaged with him (Rashid).

The police registered a case under Sections 324, 452, 429 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7-A of the Anti-Terrorism Act and started investigations. — Correspondent
