SUKKUR, March 5: Tension has mounted between Lund and Bozdar tribesmen in the Jarwar area of Ghotki district after kidnapping of two men on Wednesday.

Two days ago Hashim Lund was deprived of his tractor by armed robbers near Jarwar and Lund tribesmen, blaming Bozdar tribesmen for the act, snatched a tractor from a Bozdar tribesmen on Wednesday night.

In retaliation, a group of armed Bozdar tribesmen snatched two passenger buses belonging to Lund tribesmen at Mathelo Chowk. Taking revenge of this act, armed Lund tribesmen snatched two passenger buses belonging to Bozdar tribesmen.

On Wednesday morning, Hameed Lund was kidnapped by Bozdar tribesmen and in retaliation Lund tribesmen kidnapped Sabit Ali Bozdar from the Pir Bari area.

Following the kidnappings, tension has mounted in the area as members of the two tribes have taken positions against each other.

The area people have confined themselves to their houses, bazaars in Jarwar have been closed and a heavy contingent of police is patrolling the area to avert clashes between the two tribes.

Meanwhile, three other people have been kidnapped in separate incidents from the jurisdiction of the Daharki and Belo Mirpur police near Mirpur Mathelo.

The first incident of kidnapping took place on Wednesday on Daharki-Dad Leghari link road in which two motorcyclists, Lahooti Shaikh and Bhooral Leghari, were kidnapped by armed men.

In second incident, Mohammad Eidan Lashari, resident of Islam Lashari village, was kidnapped by armed men on Wednesday night when he was irrigating his land.

No case regarding either of the two incidents has been registered till the filing of this report.
