Students held for road blockade

SHEIKHUPURA, March 4: The Sharaqpur police on Tuesday arrested dozens of government high school students for road blockade during a protest demonstration against the republication of blasphemous caricatures.

Reports said scores of students held a demonstration and blocked Lahore Road for two hours, causing a great deal of inconvenience to commuters.

The police baton-charged the agitators in order to restore traffic and stop their march towards the Sharaqpur city. As a result dozens of students sustained injuries. On offering resistance, the police took several students into custody. — Correspondent
