HYDERABAD, March 4: The Jeay Sindh Students Federation (Organising Committee) organised an event on Tuesday to mark the launching of a movement against the dictatorship of Field Marshal Ayub Khan and One Unit on March 4, 1967.

The function was held at press club on Tuesday and presided over by Central President JSSF, Rooplo Choliani. The Chairman Organising Committee Shafi Mohammad Karnani and Central Leader Abdul Wahid Arisar were chief guests.

Advocate Yousuf Leghari, the hero of March 4, said: “The day can never be forgotten as students challenged the dictatorship of Field Marshal Ayoub Khan and launched a struggle against One Unit on this day.” He said when it was a crime to mention Sindh the students led a national struggle against One Unit and dictatorship.

Other leaders said Sindh was dearer to them than their lives and added the situation today was more serious than it was on March 4, 1967. They said time had come to protect Sindh from the evil designs of enemies.

The meeting adopted several resolutions demanding immediate release of nationalist leaders of Sindh and Balochistan, including Dr Safdar Sarki, Asif Baladi, Asghar Shah and others; revival of student unions; withdrawal of forces from educational institutions and abolition of self-financing scheme.
