RAHIM YAR KHAN, March 2: The mammography machine for the diagnosis of breast cancer in women has been installed in Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital (SZMCH) here.

The facility would not only benefit the women patients of south Punjab but also of Sindh and Balochistan provinces, SZMCH principal Prof Dr Eice Muhammad stated this in a press release issued here on Sunday.

He said that women patients had to rush either to Lahore or Karachi or Islamabad while most of patients remained deprived of the treatment facility because they could not afford huge expenses of big cities. For the comfort of women patients, he said, ladies staff was appointed to operate the mammography machine.

Prof Eice said that holder monitor, ETT and echocardiography machines had already been installed for cardiac patients and electro myography and electro encephalography machines for neuro patients.

He said the hospital had also been equipped with a CT scan machine some four months back.
