SANGHAR, Feb 28: The naib nazim of Tando Adam taluka was removed through a no-trust motion on Thursday.
The dismissed naib nazim, Shahid Shaikh, belonged to the MQM-backed Haq Parast group. Yousuf Shah, naib nazim of Pir Faqir union council has been elected as new taluka naib nazim of Tando Adam.
The resolution was tabled by Ghulam Mustafa Bhano and Ali Mohammad Raho. Nine members of the council voted in favour while five opposed the move.
During the 2005 local bodies’ elections, the PML-F and the MQM had formed an alliance.
