HYDERABAD, Feb 28: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed contractors, engineers and concerned officials to complete construction of Ghanghro Mori Bypass by June.

He issued the instructions during inspection of Ghangro Mori Bypass and under construction arterial roads on Thursday.

He expressed satisfaction over the progress work of flyover at the railway crossing and the road sector. He further directed work on widening of road on both sides from Fateh Chowk to Ghangra Mori.

He said at least one side of the road should be opened for traffic after completing the work on the black top.

He expressed the hope that this project which included construction of a flyover on the National Highway near Hala Naka, another flyover on lined channel railway crossing, four-lane 13 kilometres road and grills on both banks of lined channel will be completed at a cost of Rs760 million within a period of eight months.

He said this project will ease pressure within the city and will also facilitate vehicular traffic coming from Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Sanghar, Umerkot, Badin and other towns of interior Sindh, which will have a direct passage to Super Highway without entering the city.

Concerned engineers briefing the District Nazim said problems of encroachments were being faced but will be overcome soon. They said Hesco had already been paid Rs1.4 million to remove high-tension lines and electric poles from the centre of roads.
