JHANG, Feb 27: Shorkot city police has claimed to have arrested three alleged terrorists, planning to kill some politicians in the district.

The police also claimed to have recovered two suicide jackets, explosives and chemicals used for making explosive material.

Police sources said city SHO Mazhar Farooq Sadhana had received information about presence of suspected militants in a house near Pull Miran. A police party raided the house on Tuesday and arrested them.

The suspects were identi-

fied as Ghulam Shabir alias Qasim, Muhammad Amin Gujjar and Muhammad Ramzan Bhatti.

During interrogation the suspected admitted that they were planning to kill Sheikh Waqas Akram, recently elected member of the National Assembly from NA-89 Jhang, and ex-MNA Syeda Abida Hussain and Syed Fakhar Imam.

According to police, the terrorists belonged to the defunct Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.
