NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 27: Two accused sent to judicial lockup by the additional session judge escaped in a car waiting outside the court in Kandiaro on Wednesday.

Ahsan Noonari and Nazar Mohammad, resident of Mehrabpur, appeared before the judge who granted them bail in a case pertaining to a clash in which some people had received minor injuries.

Due to their failure to produce surety, both the accused were sent to judicial lock-up through head constable Shamsuddin and constables Ali Gul Sargani and Abdullah Kandhar.

After they left the court, a car waiting on the road came to them and the driver offered to drop them at the judicial lock-up. When the accused got in the car, the driver drove away the car, leaving behind the policemen.

DPO Zulfiqar Ali told Dawn that the three policemen had been arrested and an FIR registered against them.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident near the main bus stop of Kandiaro.

Niaz Hussain Bhurt, 25, resident of Pir Bux Bhurt, was crossing the National Highway on his motorcycle when a trailer hit him. As a result, he died on the spot.

The driver escaped, leaving behind his trailer which has been impounded by the police. However, no FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

SALARY: A number of teachers serving at schools run by the National Commission for Human Development staged a demonstration in Mehrabpur to protest against non-payment of their salary.

They said that they were not paid monthly salary for the last two months, causing financial hardships to their families.
