Banks told to submit info about Sukuk

KARACHI, Feb 27: The State Bank of Pakistan has advised all Islamic banking institutions i.e. Islamic banks and conventional banks having Islamic banking branches to provide information regarding the issuance of those Sukuk where the Islamic banking institution concerned is involved as an issuer or a lead arranger.

According to a circular issued by SBP here on Wednesday, the said information should be sent, as a footnote to the Quarterly Report of Condition, to the department concerned as per prescribed format attached as annexure from the quarter ending on March 31, 2008.

The banks have been further advised to submit the requisite information about the Sukuk issued till date as per abovementioned format latest by March 10.—APP
