Rape accused remanded

NAWABSHAH, Feb 25: The judicial magistrate-I of Nawabshah on Monday remanded for three days in police custody an accused in a sexual assault case of a minor maid servant.

A-section police arrested Ali Mohammed Unnar on Saturday evening after a complaint by the victim’s mother who accused him of sexually assaulting her 10-year-old daughter. The accused was booked under section-376 PPC.

The girl’s medical check-up was carried out at the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital on Monday.

Dr Saeeda Baloch, medico-legal officer, told Dawn that the patient’s had been checked and samples had been sent to laboratory for chemical analysis.

She said that provisional report on the girl’s condition could not be finalised due to absence of radiologist.

She said that the final report might take a few days.—BoC
