MIRAMSHAH, Feb 24: Paramilitary soldiers shot dead a suspect when he attacked a security check post in Miramshah, North Waziristan tribal region on Sunday, injuring three personnel.

Witnesses said that the unidentified man was trying to advance towards the check post. When the soldiers asked him to stop for a body search, he did not stop and hurled a grenade at the post after coming closer, they said, adding that the soldiers opened fire on the man. The attack sparked tension in the town and bazaars were closed.
