Dr Iqrar new VC of UAF

FAISALABAD, Feb 24: Prof Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan has been appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) for a period of four years. Dr. Iqrar will be the 16th VC of the university and will take over the charge of his office on the completion of four-year term of his predecessor Prof Dr. Bashir Ahmad.

Dr. Iqrar earned his doctorate and post-doctoral degrees from the University of California Riverside, United States, with distinction.

He has 31 years experience in research and development of agriculture, biology and environment and has undertaken research and teaching assignments at seven universities, including six foreign universities.

Dr. Iqrar performed meritorious assignments as director-general of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Islamabad, and chief scientist/director of Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB), Faisalabad. — APP
