LAKKI MARWAT, April 13: Around 150,000 children of up to five years of age will be administered polio and Vitamin-A drops in a three-day anti-polio campaign, which is scheduled to begin on April 16.

Primary Health Coordinator Dr Tariq Saleem Marwat told this to local newsmen during a press briefing about the campaign here on Saturday.

He said 241 mobile teams had been formed to administer the drops to the children at different bus stops and in various localities.

A World Health Organization’s team of doctors, comprising Dr Shah Jehan Baloch, Dr Roohullah and Dr Abdurehman, will supervise the teams, while local health authorities, including the executive district officer, health, Dr Abdurashid Gandapur, Dr Khan Malook Begu Khel, Dr Tariq Saleem Marwat and Dr Nawabzada will assist them to make the campaign a success.

Dr Marwat said assistance of Nazims, Naib Nazims and councillors had also been sought to achieve the target and make the district a polio-free zone.
