Published February 19, 2008

KARACHI, Feb 18: The Pakistan People’s Party candidate on a national assembly seat, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, accused the rival party of capturing polling stations in the NA-250 constituency, stuffing ballot boxes with bogus votes and taking presiding officers hostage.

Addressing a news conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday evening, he alleged that despite complaints police did not intervene. He also accused the rival party’s workers of firing rockets on a polling station.
