GUJRAT, April 12: Three dacoits looted cash and prize bonds worth Rs1.5 million from the National Savings Centre, Lalamusa branch, on Friday morning.

Police said three men entered the savings centre in the guise of customers at 9:30am. One of them gave Rs2,000 to the cashier for purchasing prize bonds. In the meantime, his accomplices whipped out their weapons and snatched the rifle from the guard. The man buying prize bonds also whipped out his pistol and snatched Rs50,000 in cash from the cashier. Later, the bandits collected about Rs1.1 million in cash and prize bonds worth Rs314,000 from the strong room and escaped.

Police are investigating.
