Five trains to be launched

LAHORE, April 12: Farid Express, the new train that will run between Lahore and Karachi, is being inaugurated here on Monday.

The train consists of 12 economy class coaches and is expected to earn Rs100 million per year. It would reach Karachi via Kasur, Pakpattan and Lodhran, a news release issued by the Pakistan Railways said here on Friday.

The railways would also run Abasin Rail Car between Rawalpindi and Peshawar from Monday. It would cover the distance between the two cities in three-and-a-half hours. Besides, Rohri Express will be launched between Sukkur and Khanpur in Sindh. Earlier, it used to run between Rohri and Khanpur.

The announcement added that the railways planned to launch an express train, Zarghoon Special, between Jacobabad and Quetta. It would be inaugurated on Monday. Tipu Sultan Express between Rawalpindi and Multan will also be launched the same day.
