SANGHAR, April 12: All arrangements have been completed for the public address of President Gen Pervez Musharraf at the Stadium ground here on Saturday.

District Nazim Roshan Din Junejo has said that over 500 vehicles have been arranged which will be provided to Nazims on Saturday to bring the people to the stadium.

The competitions have started among the elected representatives, except those of the PPP, to place welcome banners and posters on vantage positions.

Hundreds of banners inscribed with pro-Musharraf slogans were seen displayed alongside the roads leading towards the ground.

The banners were displayed by Nazims, Naib Nazims and councillors.

Army helicopters also kept on hovering and at least two landed at ground near the district jail on Friday.

The commuters kept on suffering due to non-availability of public transport.

Most of the vehicles of the city were impounded by the police and the others went off the road.

On Friday newspapers did not reach Sanghar.

Similarly vegetables and fruits also could not reach markets. Students, and the patients also suffered a lot.

The President’s visit has proved to be a blessing for the people of the area as the municipal authorities provided full water after a long time and at some places flooded the roads because water tankers were replete with water.

The irrigation authorities have also supplied full water in canals after almost two months and on Friday most of the canals were brimming with water to the joy of farmers and they said that the President should come every month.
