LAHORE, Feb 12: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provided evidence regarding pre-poll rigging to the European Union (EU) observers who called on the officials of the party’s provincial Election Monitoring Cell on Tuesday.

Cell’s President Munawwar Anjum said he had provided information and proof of use of official resources by the nazims in favour of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q in Punjab.

“We also pointed out to the observers the presence of duplicate votes in the electoral rolls prepared by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the Feb 18 elections,” a spokesman for the PPP said.

The observers were also given details about the “sensitive” constituencies in Lahore.
