Minor boy hanged

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Feb 12: Unidentified persons hanged a minor student in Burj Aagra village early on Tuesday morning.

Twelve-year-old Muhammad Umar son of Mian Bashir Ahmed went missing a day ago. He was found hanging with a tree outside the village on Tuesday morning.

Police suspect Umar was sodomised and then hanged.

PROTEST: About 500 students and locals staged a sit-in at Harya Railway Station on Tuesday against an increase in the fare. As a result, a train going from Sargodha to Mandi Bahauddin was delayed for an hour.

The protesters raised slogans against the railway administration and demanded withdrawal of Rs435 increase in the fee of the monthly travel pass. They said the railway authorities had increased the fee for the monthly pass from Rs225 to Rs660.
