HYDERABAD, Feb 11: Cases were lodged at two police stations following alleged incidents of violence during MQM candidates corner meetings on Sunday.

The Sakhi Pir police lodged a case on the complaint of Salahuddin, MQM candidate for NA-220, against Jani Rind, Raees Baloch, Naseer Baloch, and others for resorting to aerial firing during a corner meeting. No one was injured in the firing. Police recovered five empties of repeaters and eight pistols.

The Makki Shah Police lodged a case on the complaint of Sohail Yusuf, MQM candidate for PS-49 Latifabad, against Yasir, Riyasat, Ramzan, Ali Ahmed, Babar, Awais and around 70 unidentified PPP activists for resorting to firing during a corner meetings in Shah Faisal Colony.
