VEHARI, Feb 10: Islamic forces are ready to talk to the United States for peace on the basis of equality, but they are not ready to accept the so-called superpower’s supremacy, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said here on Sunday.

Speaking by telephone to party workers at Madressah Ishatul Quran in Mailsi in connection with the election campaign of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) candidate for PP-239 Malik Muhammad Asghar Manswi, Rehman said the US was the scion of imperialism and it was violating human rights throughout the world. He said the American imperialism threatened oppressed nations of the world.

Rehman said the US was the ‘biggest terrorist’ in the world that was tyrannising oppressed nations. He held the government responsible for the prevailing law and order situation and said it was constantly keeping the security sword hanging on political figures to slow down the election activity.

The government, he said, wanted to keep political leaders from direct interaction with people that was why it was issuing them warnings of suicide attacks. He said the MMA would win the election with an ‘overwhelming majority’. He praised MMA’s five-year performance and asked people to vote for the alliance in the Feb 18 election.
