HYDERABAD, April 11: A group of villagers of goth Mouledino Mirbahar and representative of various social welfare organizations staged protest demonstrations outside the DPO office and continued their hunger strike outside the press club for the 4th consecutive day here on Thursday.

They have been protesting against the police raids on the village, ransacking of their homes, arrest of over one dozen villagers and registration of alleged false case against the executive editor of the Daily Dua Abdul Latif Mallah and others.

A delegation also called on senior police officers and was assured that no injustice would be done to them.

The leaders of the social welfare organisations told newsmen that if justice was not restored, they would stage protest demonstrations outside the offices of the Zila Nazim and Additional IGP Hyderabad Region.

They further said that they would also protest before President General Pervez Musharraf on his ensuing visit to Hyderabad.
