LARKANA, Feb 8: Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly burning his pregnant wife to death.

The Dari police on Friday registered an FIR against Ashfaq Ahmed Shaikh for allegedly burning his eight-month pregnant wife to death. Khalil Ahmed Shaikh, brother of deceased woman Anila Shaikh, was complainant in the case. He accused his brother-in-law of burning to death his wife on January 31.

The woman was shifted to Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi where she died after giving birth to a baby who also could not survive.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist Akhtiar Pirzado was killed and his companion Rustam Shaikh injured when another motorcyclist opened fire on them after their bikes collided near Municipal High School, here on Friday.

Killer escaped from the scene, while the Civil Lines Police Station was probing the incident.
