TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 6: Three people died and 12 others injured seriously in a collision between a van and a motorcycle-rickshaw near Pirmahal on Wednesday.
A passenger van was going to Pirmahal from Chichawatni when it collided with a rickshaw near a bypass on Kamalia-Pirmahal Road. As a result, rickshaw driver Shahid and passengers Sajid and Ramzan Bibi died at the scene and 12 other rickshaw and van passengers were injured.
The injured were admitted to Pirmahal rural health unit from where two of them — Irshad and Zahid — were referred to the district hospital.
TRUCK SNATCHED: Robbers snatched a mini-truck loaded with kinno from its driver near Chak 347-GB.
Truck driver Hashim was transporting kinno from a village orchard to the Toba fruit market early in the morning when robbers stopped him, held him at gunpoint, tied him with a rope and fled with his kinno-laden truck.
