SUKKUR, Feb 6: The district and sessions judge Ghotki ordered registration of a case against the SHO Khanpur Mahar on Wednesday for allegedly killing a farmer in a fake encounter 15 days ago. However, the case was not registered yet.

Gul Hassan alias Babul, son of Atta Hussain Gadani, resident of village Nazar Ali Khan Gadani in Khanpur Mahar police station’s jurisdiction, was on his way after working in his fields, when SHO Khanpur Mahar Aijaz Memon, who was patrolling with a police party, asked him to stop, and when he did not, the police opened fire, killing him on the spot and later declared him a dacoit.

His father has filed a petition with the district and sessions court Ghotki, stating that his son was not a dacoit and had been killed by the police in a fake encounter.
