Balochistan strike

Published February 5, 2008

QUETTA, Feb 4: Traders in Dera Allahyar and Dera Murad Jamali observed on Monday a strike in protest against kidnapping of four Hindu businessmen.

Businessmen were kidnapped from a passenger wagon while going to Jacobabad from Dera Murad Jamali a week ago.

All shops and business centres remained closed throughout the day. The administration had made special security arrangements in both the towns and deployed heavy contingents of police and personnel of other law-enforcement agencies. No untoward incident has been reported.—Staff Correspondent
