Published February 5, 2008

KARACHI, Feb 4: The chief justice of the Sindh High Court on Monday exercising his powers under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973, reinstated four suspended judges of the subordinate judiciary.

The judges reinstated with immediate effect without prejudice to the final result of the proceedings pending against them are district & sessions judge Zamir-ul-Hasnain Larik, civil judge & judicial magistrate Khair Mohammad Solangi and civil judge & judicial magistrate Ali Gul Khaskheli.

The CJ has also allowed the review application filed by Shafqatullah Unar, ex-civil judge & judicial magistrate, against dispensing with his services by setting aside this court’s earlier order dated March 8, 2006 and reinstated him in service with immediate effect.

The period during which the services of Mr Unar remained dispensed with would be treated as leave without pay, said a handout issued on Monday.—A Reporter
