KARACHI, Feb 4: Information Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Sindh, Haleem Adil Shaikh has condemned the alleged attack on his party’s women workers in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Sunday, and warned that any such attack in the future will be avenged.

Addressing a press conference at the press club here on Monday, he said that the PML-Q would not let the PPP indulge in the politics of violence, plundering and threats by taking undue advantage of the assassination of its leader.

Mr Shaikh, a candidate for PS-126 seat, said Ms Bhutto’s assassination was a national tragedy and the culprits should be hanged in Liaquatbagh. However, he added, the PPP’s local leadership would be held accountable if it tried to create an atmosphere of terror by intimidating political rivals in the election.

Mr Shaikh claimed that PML-Q women activists were attacked in Bakhtawar Goth on Sunday and an attempt was made to kidnap one of them, Farida Leghari. An FIR of the incident had been lodged, he added.
