DERA ISMAIL KHAN, April 9: The residence of district Nazim has become a hub of political activities in the area as the district Nazim holds meetings at his house in support of referendum, while his brother, who also lives there, is a PPP official and holds meetings against the presidential referendum within the same premises.

Recently, the district Nazim, Latifullah Khan Alizai, presided over a meeting of Nazimeen at his residence to brief them about the strategy to make the referendum a success.

Almost all the members of district council attended this meeting and assured the district Nazim of their cooperation. Only a few members who are willing to contest elections for provincial or National Assembly on the tickets of parties opposing referendum, kept quite.

At the same time, a separate meeting of workers of PPP, PLF, PSF and Youth Wing was held within the same premises. This meeting was presided over by district Nazim’s brother, Hafeezullah Khan Alizai, who is also divisional president of PPP Dera Ismail Khan. This meeting was held to brief the members of these parties about the strategy being evolved to resist the forthcoming referendum.

Although journalists were not given a briefing, sources privy to the meeting disclosed that the high command of parties would provide a line of action which would be followed in letter and spirit.
