HARIPUR: Godown gutted

Published February 3, 2008

HARIPUR, Feb 2: A godown was gutted in Hattar Industrial Estate here on Saturday, causing a loss of millions of rupees. There was no report of casualty in the incident.

The Hattar police quoted the management of Zaman Packages Factory, a card boxes manufacturing unit in phase 5 of Hattar Industrial Estate, as saying that the fire erupted in the godown of the factory in the early hours of Saturday due to shortcircuiting. The fire engulfed the entire area of godown and left the raw and marketable material completely destroyed. Fire brigades from Haripur, Hattar, Hassanabdal, Taxila and Wah Cantt took part in the rescue work and managed to put out the fire after a joint operation of six hours.
