LAHORE, Feb 1: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that there will be 3,211 polling stations and 7,987 polling booths in the Punjab capital to facilitate 3,671,089 voters on Feb 18.

ECP sources told APP that there will be separate polling booths for 2,042,216 male and 1,628,873 female registered voters in Lahore to elect 13 legislators for the National Assembly and 25 for the provincial assembly.

The Election Commission has also demarcated areas and localities falling in each constituency.

The NA-118 includes Begum Kot, Kot Majo, Aziz Colony, Faisal Park, Qaiser Town, Shahdara, Jia Moosa, Qila Lachman Singh, Fruit Market, Sadiqpura, Phangali Bagh and Siddiqia Colony.

A total of 12 candidates, including eight independents, are contesting for the National Assembly seat. There are a total of 250,850 enlisted voters, including 142,467 male and 108,383 female in the constituency. The ECP has set up 244 polling stations having 574 booths in the constituency.

NA-119 consists of Qila Lachman Singh, Bengali Bagh, Chah Miran, Makhanpura, Kot Khwaja Saeed, Shadbagh, Wasanpura, Faizbagh, Farooq Ganj, Dehli Gate, Rang Mehal, Bhati Gate, Taxali Gate, Anarkali, Gowalmandi, Qila Gujjar Singh, Sarai Sultan etc. As many as four candidates, including PPP, PLM-N, PML-Q and an independent candidate are in the run. The total number of registered voters is 298,192 with 164,652 male and 133,540 female. A total of 294 polling stations and 695 polling booths have been set up.

NA-120 comprises Amin Park, Karim Park, Ganj Kalan, Bilal Ganj, Anarkali, Kasurpura, Gawalmandi, Qila Gujjar Singh, Mazang, Jinnah Hall, Islampura, Chohan Park, Sanda Kalan etc.

In all, 268,312 are registered voters, out of them 147,495 are male and 120,817 female. A total of eight candidates including PPP, PML-N, PML-Q, MQM, MMA and three independent are taking part in the election where 209 polling stations and 566 polling booths would be set up.

NA-121 covers Sabzazar, Riwaz Garden, Jinnah Hall, Sanda Khurd, Sanda Kalan, Chauburji, Abu Bakar Park, Shamnagar, Bund road, Islampura, Gulshan Ravi, Data Ganj Bukhsh Town, Samanabad, Iqbal Town, etc. Seven candidates are in the field. Total registered voters are 303,962 — 168,491 male and 135,471 female. As many as 264 polling stations and 626 polling booths would be set up in the constituency.

NA-122 consists of Railway Colony, Dars Baray Mian, Crown Park, Mian Mir, Bibi Pak Daman, Racecourse Park, Shah Kamal, Pakki Thathi, Samanabad, Nawankot, Rehmanpura, Ichhra, etc. Ten candidates are in run. Total number of registered voters is 331,381 — 176,749 men and 154,632 women. Polling stations 283 and polling booths 698.

NA-123 covers the area of Bhaghatpura, Gujjarpura, Bilal Park, Kot Khwaja Saeed, Shadbagh, Madhu Lal Husain, Umer Colony, Rehmatpura, Baghbanpura, Muslimabad and Sultan Mahmood etc. Nine candidates are contesting the election.

The number of registered voters is 288,994 — 162,070 male and 126,924 female. A total of 268 polling stations and 642 polling booths will be set up.

NA-124 comprises Shadipura, Salamatpura, Harbanspura, Daroghawala, Rashidpura, Fateh Garh, Nabipura, Angoori Bagh, Sahuwari, Mughalpura, Mian Mir, Mustafabad, Ghaziabad, Taj Bagh, Tajpura etc. Six candidates are in the run. There are 275,697 registered voters, including 151,786 male and 123,911 female. A total of 265 polling stations and 623 polling booths will be established.

NA-125 consists of Sadar Bazaar, Walton Road, RA Bazaar, Defence, Nadrabad, Husainabad, Qasimpura, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Charrar, Qainchi, Nishat Colony, Railway Officer Colony, Qadri Colony, Pir Colony, Sehjpal, Nia Gohawa, Sarwar Road and Al-Faisal Town. Eleven candidates are contesting for the seat.

The number of registered voters is 311,540, with 171,751 men and 139,789 women. As many as 245 polling stations and 689 polling booths will be set up.

NA-126 comprises Model Town, Garden Town, Faisal Town, Muslim Town, Iqbal Town, Johar Town, Makkah Colony, Gulberg, Nasirabad, Rehmanpura, Gulshan Iqbal, Wahdat Colony, Pakki Thathi etc. As many as 13 candidates are in the run. Total registered voters are 360,304 including 194,850 male and 165,454 female.

NA-127 covers the areas of Liaqatabad, Model Town Ext (Q, R and S blocks), Pindi Rajputan, Ismail Nagar, Kot Lakhpat, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Teharta Pind, Bagrian, Green Town, Township, Maryam Colony, Sitara Colony, Farid Colony etc. Ten candidates will contest Feb 18 election from this constituency. The number of registered voters is 279,080 — 156,580 male and 122,560 female. The constituency will have 216 polling stations and 569 polling booths.

NA-128 area consists of Raiwind, Shadiwal, Hanjarwal, Shahpur Kanjran, Muridwal, Sattu Katla, Kachi Kothi, Chuhng, Mohlanwal, Maraka, Shamki Bhattian, Sunder, Bhaikot, Sultanki, Manga Mandi, Halloki, Chamarpura, Ramkot, etc. Eight candidates are vying for seat where 238 polling stations and 531 polling booths are being set up. The number of registered voters is 275,267, including 157,233 male and 118,034 female.

NA-129 comprises Jat Dogran Kalan, Manawan, Minhala, Bengali, Burki, Dhaloki, Khurd, Kumahan, Atari Roba. Eight are in the run for this seat. As many as 192 polling stations and 443 polling booths would be set up where 200,935 registered voters, including 118,552 male and 82,383 female, will exercise their right to vote.

NA-130 falls in Wagah Town, Aziz Bhatti Town areas, Lakhoder, Bhasin, Taj Bagh, Al-Faisal Town, Gulgashat Colony, Manawan, Dogran Kalan, Minhala, Bengali, Burki and Haryaran etc. Seven candidates are contesting election. A total of 229 polling stations and 599 polling booths would be set up where 226,575 registered voters, including 129,540 men and 97,035 women, would exercise their right to vote.

As many as 3,211 presiding officers, 15,974 assistant presiding officers and 7,987 polling officers will conduct election in all the constituencies of Lahore.—APP
